The Hummingbird Seed Mix is even blended with the same number of each seed in the mix*. Be patient with some of the beauties in the hummingbird seed mix, all well worth the wait. Some do not bloom the first year And MANY BIRDS & INSECT POLLINATORS are wild about these flowers… Bonus!
Plant hummingbird seed mix on prepared soil, preferably in fall or winter. Use rake or harrow to scratch surface well, then lightly till before putting seeds on the surface of seed bed. Then drag the area with harrow tines down to push seeds into soil, or put light layer of sand or vermiculite or weed-free straw over seeds. and keep watered 3 times per week. DO NOT COVER SEEDS WITH SOIL, seed mix need light to germinate!
Gardeners plant 7-14 lb/acre, or 1 lb per 2500 sq ft. Golf Course rate 10-25 lbs/acre, consider also sowing your Regional Native Grass Mix for a permanent wildlife refuge planting.
